Jyv Desktop supports 90+ languages for transcription, voice enhancement, and interface. Configure language settings and optimize for your region.
Overview
Jyv Desktop is a global application supporting 90+ languages. This includes:
- Interface Language: Menus and settings in your language
- Transcription Languages: Speech-to-text in 90+ languages
- Voice Enhancement: Language-optimized voice processing
- Regional Settings: Date, time, number formats by region

Transcription Languages (90+)
Real-time transcription available in:
All major world languages including variants:
- English: US, UK, AU, IN, CA variants
- Spanish: Spain, Mexico, Argentina variants
- Chinese: Simplified, Traditional, with regional accents

Change Language
Change the interface language of Jyv Desktop.
Open Settings
Tray icon → Settings
Go to General → Language
Left sidebar → General → Language
Select Language
Dropdown menu → Choose your language
Confirm
Click Save or it auto-saves
Jyv may restart to apply the new language
Restart Jyv (if needed)
Close and reopen Jyv Desktop
Interface is now in your selected language
Transcription Languages
Set the language for real-time speech-to-text transcription.
Open Transcription Settings
Settings → Features → Transcription
Select Language
Transcription Language dropdown → Choose your language
Choose Variant (Optional)
Some languages have regional variants. Select the one matching your accent:
- English (US) - American English
- English (UK) - British English
- English (India) - Indian English
- Spanish (Spain) vs Spanish (Mexico)
- Portuguese (Brazil) vs Portuguese (Portugal)
Save and Test
Save settings. Try speaking - Jyv will transcribe in your selected language.
Your Language: English
Your Accent: Indian English
Transcription Language: English (India)
Result: Most accurate transcription for Indian English accent and vocabulary- ✓ Correct language/variant selection
- ✓ Clear audio (minimal background noise)
- ✓ Good microphone quality
- ✗ Automatic accent detection (select manually)
Voice Enhancement Languages
Voice enhancement settings can be optimized per language.
Open Voice Enhancement
Settings → Features → Voice Enhancement
Select Voice Mode
Choose enhancement mode:
- Natural - for casual conversations
- Professional - for work/meetings
- Broadcast - for streaming/recording
- Podcast - for long-form content
- Gaming - for voice chat + game sounds
Configure for Your Language
Some modes have language-specific options:
- Accent: Select your regional accent (if available)
- Tone: Adjust voice tone per language
- Clarity: Language-specific clarity enhancement
Save and Test
Speak and listen. Adjust settings for best results in your language.
Add Language Support
If your language isn't in the list, you can request it.
Check Current Languages
Settings → Language → See full list
If Not Found
Click "Request Language" button
Provide Details
Fill out language request form with:
- Language name and language code
- Regional variants (if applicable)
- Why you need this language
- Community size interested in this language

Other users vote on language requests. Popular languages are added first.

- Transcription per-window: Window A transcribes in English, Window B in Spanish
Language-Specific Tips
For Tonal Languages (Mandarin, Thai, Vietnamese)
- Speak clearly to preserve tones
